What is the role of the auto column

auto column are vertical or near-vertical support structures in the window or cockpit area. From the side, they are front pillars, middle pillars, and rear pillars from front to back. For cars, in addition to supporting the  auto column, it also acts as a door frame.
The car column is the connecting column connecting the roof and the front compartment of the left front and the right front. Generally, there are three types of pillars in the body of a car. From front to back, they are the front pillar (A pillar), the middle pillar (B pillar), and the rear pillar (C pillar). For cars, in addition to supporting the column, it also acts as a door frame.

The A-pillar, B-pillar, and C-pillar of a car all have their own different functions, but at the same time they have their own contradictions, such as the contradiction between the field of vision and stiffness of the A-pillar, and the contradiction between the stiffness and convenience of the B-pillar. The A-pillar is between the engine compartment and the cockpit, and above the left and right rearview mirrors, which will block part of your turning vision, especially when turning left, so there are more discussions. The B-pillar is between the front and rear seats of the cockpit. It is the longitudinal bar between the two doors on both sides. It extends from the roof to the bottom of the car. Seen from the inside, the seat belt is on the B-pillar. The C-pillars flank the rear headrests. In short, the  auto column is the main part of supporting the structural strength of the vehicle
